Full-Time Job: Mobile Developer, Seattle, WA (INRIX)

Job Title: Mobile Developer

Job location: Seattle, WA

Employer: INRIX

Employment Type: Full-Time Job

Job Description

INRIX is on a path of unprecedented growth and success as the world-leader in real-time traffic flow data and predictive analytics.  The company's business customers are household names in the automotive, news/media, GPS navigation, and government sectors.

As a mobile developer in Consumer Mobile Division, your mission is to build inspiring new consumer applications that leverage INRIX's big data and analytics prowess to bring millions of drivers greater sanity and control every single day.  The existing iPhone and Android apps have been installed over 6 million times, and that is just the beginning.  The team is 100% focused on creating a next generation of consumer apps that truly wows in the first few minutes of use, and becomes an indispensible part of daily life for millions.

The INRIX Consumer Mobile Division is a great place to grow your career and skillset.  Our roadmap is bursting with opportunity for engineers to solve intriguing challenges, and tangibly impact the customer experience.

Mobile Developer | Requirements:

  • You know and love mobile application development for iOS or Android, and have strong practical knowledge of Objective-C or Java language. Links to published iOS or Android applications are a big plus.
  • You're up to date on the latest innovations in the iOS or Android ecosystem.
  • You're passionate about making a great user experience and happy to work closely with design to make the app work just right for users.
  • You follow sound engineering practices, have high coding standards and help others do the same.
  • You constantly push our product forward to keep our users happy and competitors scared.
  • You'll grow with the team, looking for opportunities to learn new things and step up to new challenges.
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science (or a great reason for not having one).
  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience and 1+ years of experience with mobile technologies.

What you're looking for:

  • A fast paced "start-up like" environment with an Agile workflow and small, high performing teams.
  • Being part of a team where fun, smart, passionate, ambitious engineers, testers, and designers both support and challenge one another.
  • A fast–growing global company where you'll be challenged to think about things that no one has thought of yet.
  • A position where you're an important voice in product development, and can have a big impact on the products consumers use.
  • The chance to bring architectural, code maintainability, and implementation speed thinking into early product designs, then write the code that brings new capabilities to life.
  • The vast majority of your time spent coding and working with the team to build better software, not in meetings.

Why you should make the move:

  • For the opportunity to build something new and incredibly useful that your friends, family and millions of others will use and love.  Even the best engineers can only write so much code each year – make it really count!
  • INRIX motorboat – Get your boat license and we'll pay for the gas. You can walk from your office to the dock in 15 minutes. Take your family and friends skiing or tubing.  Yes, it's big and it's fast!
  • Free Car – Well not really free… but we have a couple new test cars with the latest traffic technology that you can take home. We pay for the gas.
  • Great Benefits – We're as good, or better than most companies our size.
  • Free onsite snacks and drinks & lunches everyday – The food comes to you so that you write lots and lots of good code (at least we're honest).
  • Bonuses 2x per year and Stock Options – Because you like to be rewarded and recognized for your hard work.
  • Open Ended Vacation Policy – You're an adult and can manage your own vacation time.  Work hard; play hard, and don't bother counting the days.
  • Family – We don't believe that you should miss your child's play because you have to attend a meeting.  The CEO even sends a handwritten card and gift to your child on their special day.  How many CEO's do that?
  • Are you ready to join a different kind of company?

INRIX is making a positive impact in the world:

INRIX, Inc. is the fastest growing traffic intelligence platform in the world delivering smart data and analytics to solve transportation issues worldwide. We have a small team, so you'll have a huge impact in shaping the growth of the platform, product, and our company.

iOS Developer | Requirements:

  • Has helped build and ship on at least 1 iOS application professionally. We're less concerned with how many years of experience you have than with your iOS chops.

  • Has code you can share with us!

iOS Developer | Preferred:

  • Having a mastery of the relevant frameworks
  • Being comfortable pushing the limits of the UI kit (complex views, animations, layouts, drawing, etc.)

Note:

  • This job can be done from anywhere! Let us know if you'd like to telecommute or work from our Palo Alto office. :)

Why join AppAdvice?

We offer a competitive salary, healthcare benefits, a fun work space with ping pong, foozball, and free snacks and drinks. Other perks:

Company Description:

Looking to work for a fun startup with a massive user base? There's an app company for that. AppAdvice is a profitable startup creating iOS apps… about other apps! Yes, our app discovery products are already actively used by millions of people each week, but that's not good enough for us, so we're expanding our team.

AppAdvice is an app discovery platform with technology to instantly match apps with the users that would be most interested in them. Our platform allows app developers to quickly build a community of users that are actually interested in their apps, rather than shooting in the dark with advertising.

AppAdvice is in a unique position which allows us to offer a more exciting opportunity than traditional tech companies. While we are definitely a small startup, moving quickly and pivoting as new opportunities arise, we already have massive traction and are profitable to a point that can finance all our current and long term goals. We do NOT need to fundraise, we do NOT have a "burn rate." Having no investors to answer to allows us to focus on the best solution, not what will impress investors.

Full-Time Job: iOS Engineer, New York, NY (AdKeeper)

Posted: 26 Jul 2013 09:58 AM PDT

Job Title: iOS Engineer

Job location: New York, NY

Employer: AdKeeper

Employment Type: Full-Time Job

Job Description

Keep iOS ENGINEER

Are you an iOS dev that actually knows how to program? Do you worry about what that function you just wrote will do to battery life? Do you know how to test for that? Do you think storyboards are just a way for VB6 devs to hide in a new platform? We want to hear from you.

Have you spent the first couple years of your career at some do-nothing corporate crap-fest? Have you gone the other way and put two years of your life into an ill-founded startup that had plenty of foozball, but no customers?

Where do you want to work next? Who do you want to work with?

This position is for an iOS developer. You'll be working with a great team of devs producing a world-class native app. This means if you're a contractor and expect to just throw some forms together and collect a check, you should keep looking. If you're excited by the prospect of making a real investment in mobile (and the fact I spelled "you're" correctly) then we should talk.

What we have is an amazing team of devs from all sorts of backgrounds. But the culture that holds us together is a true rarity among software shops. We value open discussion, heavy pushback, and management by objective rather than the never-ending ticket queue.

iOS Engineer | Requirements:

  • Objective-C. No, not just calling other people's library functions. Objective-C. If you can't make the platform dance for you, keep looking. Seriously.
  • Networking. You should be able to tell the difference between packet loss and a DNS error. You should be able to monitor the packet flow of your app and continuously improve upon it.
  • Computer Science. You should know the basics of algorithm design/selection and be able to defend your choices. You should also know the implications on mobile of your decisions (load time, battery use, limited storage, etc…)

iOS Engineer | Preferred:

  • Python – Our backend is written in python. So if you know a bit of python, everything will fit together a bit more easily.
  • Version Control – Really anything here works. SVN, git, mercurial, bazaar, perforce, whatever. You should know how to work in a team on the same code and not have people throw things at you.
  • Linux – You'll get big points for already knowing your way around a unix/linux environment. You should be able to move around the file system in the shell, be able to run arbitrary scripts on your code etc…
  • Yacht – If you have a yacht we can drink on, that's great too.

Company Description:

Keep is part of Keep Holdings (http://www.keepholdings.com) where our Founder & CEO is Scott Kurnit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Kurnit). Our office is located in the Flatiron District of Manhattan:

Office layout is a loft and is key to our culture. In the open space you're never far from your teammates and have ready access to the CEO.

Private space to break off and focus on a problems or enjoy quiet time away from the common area.

We provide all the warm diet soda you can drink (and some cold) and have plentiful snacks to fuel early morning or late night hours.

We'll custom build/buy whatever type of machine + peripherals you need to be effective

This is a work hard, play hard type of team. We're all friends and celebrate our successes and failures together.
