Contract Job: iPhone Developer, Dallas, TX (SparkCrowd)

Posted: 09 Mar 2012 02:04 PM PST

Job Title: iPhone Developer

Job location: Dallas, TX

Employer: SparkCrowd

Employment Type: Contract Job

Job Description

We're looking for a part-time or full-time iPhone developer to help us reinvent the mobile social game.  We're an early stage company of 6 people with successful track records of founding and growing early-stage companies including numerous acquisitions by public companies and a nearly $400M IPO.  You'll be working with long-time technology executives and developers with deep experience in product management and launching online and mobile products.

We've already launched our first iPhone app and the timing couldn't be better to join the team.  We're building a company – not just a single app.  We've got big ideas and are quickly evolving the core components that will be the template for an entire suite of applications for the iPhone and other devices.  As a developer, you'll be working not just on the cutting-edge of mobile development but building experience in the biggest growth trends impacting the technology industry – location-based services, social gaming, local promotions (like Groupon), and social networks.

We're looking for a developer who is passionate about what we're doing, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is a quick learner.  While a grasp of the basics are important, talent and passion are more important to us than how many iPhone apps you've already coded.  You can be located anywhere but must be available to dedicate a minimum of 15 hours a week.

COMPENSATION

§ You will be compensated with both cash and a stake in the company (equity).  As we are still a startup, the larger portion of your compensation will be equity with a smaller portion in cash.   We have started speaking to outside investors and will evolve your compensation as we secure additional investment.

iPhone Developer | SKILLS

§ iPhone development experience (Objective-C, Cocoa) is required but we care more about your programming skill and ability to learn new things than how many iPhone apps you've coded.  Proficiency in C is a minimum requirement.

§ Understanding of web standards (HTTP, HTML, XML) and web services.

§ Passionate about mobile development.  Knowledge of Android, Blackberry OS, Windows Phone a plus.

iPhone Developer | RESPONSIBILITIES

§ Full lifecycle software development (plan, design, code, test)

§ Work with experienced back-end architect on mobile architecture

§ Participate with team on product ideation and UI design
