Android Developer | Requirements:

  • Proficient in Java
  • Proficient with threads and thread synchronization
  • Proficient with Android style guidelines
  • Knowledge of Android support tools and compiler workflow
  • Knowledge of Dalvik VM, garbage collection, and native (non-gc) heap
  • Thorough understanding of logic and the theoretical basis of software development
  • Understands application and activity lifecycle
  • Understands the intent system
  • Understands content providers and has good knowledge of SQLite
  • Understands broadcast receivers and services
  • Understands Android XML user interface layouts and layout inflation
  • Understands resource conservation and how to avoid wake locks or background processing
  • Understands object-oriented design
  • Utilizes the task stack consistently with Android standards.
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent degree; or at least 1 year experience working with Android and 2 years development experience – including mobile or desktop applications and web services

Android Developer | Preferred:

  • Android Native development kit experience
  • RenderScript experience
  • Has app(s) on the market which provide a UX consistent with Android style guidelines
  • Is also proficient with iOS development
