Job Title: iOS Engineer

Job location: Boston, MA

Employer: Yesware

Employment Type: Full-Time Job

Job Description

Yesware helps startups, salespeople and business owners make more money.  We're looking for smart, friendly people who want to be part of a team, are passionate about solving hard problems and who constantly strive to be better at their craft.

We seek a person with mid-level or better experience to bring our email productivity product to iOS.  You will become part of a cross-functional Scrum Team responsible for quickly bringing a product to market that will delight iPhone and iPad users in the same way we've already delighted Gmail users on the desktop.

Scrum, code review, automated testing and continuous integration are all integral parts of our engineering culture.  We're looking for someone who shares these priorities. Someone who will make them as much a part of our iOS development as they are part of our Ruby and JavaScript development.

This is a tremendous opportunity to teach what you know to other team members and to set the stage as to how iOS development is performed at a small and rapidly growing company. It's an exciting time here and we're having a lot of fun working with good people on neat stuff.  We'd love to have you join us.

iOS Engineer | Responsibilities:

  • As part part of a Scrum team, create the functional and technical design for an iOS-based email productivity tool and build that tool.
  • Trailblaze deployment of a new technology stack into an awesome engineering team.
  • Establish best practices for iOS development.
  • Identify and introduce automated build tools, test tools, coverage tools, etc.
  • Anything else you think needs to be done!
  • Requirements
  • Substantial experience with Objective-C, iOS and the iOS development toolchain.
  • Excellent general software engineering skills: domain driven/object oriented design, unit and system test, etc.
  • Experience consuming REST/JSON web services.
  • A hands-on attitude and a willingness to get things done.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Emotional maturity and adaptability.

iOS Engineer | Preferred:

  • Experience developing email tools.
  • Experience with or a desire to learn Ruby or Rails.

Company Description:

Yesware is the best place to work in Boston. Brad Feld wrote about our culture as "The Monastic Startup."  We're smart, accomplished, sane people getting things done in a quiet, focused, engineer-friendly environment.

We're a hard-work, low-hassle organization: few meetings, flexible schedules and a liberal vacation policy.

We use technologies like Ruby, Rails, REST, JavaScript, jQuery and MongoDB.  We peer review every line of code we write to make the best product possible.  We're crazed about automation.  We use the best tools money can buy.

Yesware is backed by top-tier venture firms Google Ventures (Rich Miner) and the Foundry Group (Brad Feld).  We have substantial revenue and our customers love us!

You can find us at the junction of South Station, Downtown Crossing and Chinatown in Boston MA.  We offer great compensation (salary and equity) as well as a growing list of benefits: health, dental, 401(k), life insurance, gym and T pass reimbursement.
